The foremost goals of sponsoring are to increase awareness of the company, individual brands and products, along with customer retention and the acquisition of new customers, but also to take on social responsibility.

Sports partner

Deutsche Telekom is one of the best known and largest sponsors of sports and provides support not only at the top level, but has also increased its emphasis on grassroots and youth training. The company has partnerships with the German Olympic team, for example, the German Olympic Sports Association and the Stiftung Deutsche Sporthilfe foundation. These partnerships not only support top-level sport, but also promote youth and leisure sports in a variety of projects. Deutsche Telekom also supports the Paralympic movement through its partnerships with the Deutscher Behindertensportverband association and the International Paralympic Committee.


In terms of top-flight sport, Germany's favorite sport, soccer, is the most important. The Deutsche Telekom Group is committed with its T-Home brand to the German Football Association, record-holding German champions FC Bayern Munich and many other league clubs. And the company supports its home city of Bonn with its commitment to the local basketball team, the Telekom Baskets Bonn, and the Bonn marathon.


Access to culture

As an international communications company, Deutsche Telekom is keen to encourage lively cultural exchanges and spark debate while at the same time ensuring the arts are accessible to a wider audience. Deutsche Telekom lives up to its role through initiatives involving partners in the German and international arts, culture and music scenes.


In the past, Deutsche Telekom supported high-caliber exhibitions such as the most beautiful French masterpieces from New York (Die schönsten Franzosen kommen aus New York) and The Guggenheim Collection. Deutsche Telekom also has a long history of supporting classical music, such as the Bonn Beethoven Festival or the International Beethoven Competition for Piano.


Deutsche Telekom also sponsors German and international music stars, events and festivals with its T-Mobile brand. A dedicated series of concerts, the T-Mobile Street Gigs, has been launched, as well as Electronic Beats, an international music community program with live events. The T-Mobile Forum in Bonn enjoys great popularity among the public with its cultural events.
