Agreement signed governing cooperation, joint market development, activities and projects
Deutsche Telekom AG and Cinterion Wireless Modules GmbH, the global leader in the field of cellular machine-to-machine (M2M) communication modules, have forged a strategic partnership. The cooperation focuses on the joint management of M2M customer projects and the sustainable development of the M2M marketplace. The agreement will enable the two suppliers to pool vertical market know-how and systematically strengthen their position in the global M2M landscape. The partners intend to market innovative M2M products jointly from early next year.
"Cooperation with vendors such as Cinterion that are well established in the marketplace is an important component in Deutsche Telekom’s international M2M- strategy", says Rainer Deutschmann, Senior Vice President Mobile Products, Deutsche Telekom AG. "We have enjoyed a close, successful partnership with Cinterion over many years. Cooperation with the market leader for cellular communication modules enriches our strong network of partners in the M2M sector, enabling us to meet our customers’ needs and provide them with an optimum portfolio of products and services. I am looking forward to working more closely with Cinterion in future and being able to supply our joint customers worldwide with compelling solutions."
"I am absolutely sure that Cinterion and Deutsche Telekom offer the market outstanding expertise by joining forces", explains Norbert Muhrer, CEO Cinterion. "We’ll work together to make M2M solutions much less complicated, to reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) and cut the time to market and the customer. The partnership is yet another example of Cinterion’s all-round commitment to forward-looking, customer-oriented and sustainable solutions, which are clearly differentiated from the competition."
Cinterion Wireless Modules and Deutsche Telekom signed the formal agreement to build upon their proven cooperation over the past few years. They are thus strengthening their partnership and their commitment to joint product offerings, business development and sales activities in the growing M2M market. To this end, the companies will align their product portfolios and collaborate on joint customer projects. By combining their individual strengths and resources in joint business projects and activities, both companies aim to increase significantly their presence in the M2M market. A further aim is to ratchet up the demand for M2M solutions, services and technology.
